Inflatable kayaks are a great way to spend some time on the water. The best part is that they fold up and fit into a backpack – which makes them perfect for taking with you anywhere! But, what about going in the ocean? Is it possible to take an inflatable kayak in the ocean or would you be better off staying on lakes or rivers only?
We all know that the ocean is a great place to be, but if you’re thinking about taking your inflatable kayak out on the water with you it might not be such a good idea. For starters, those things can’t float very high in the water and they also aren’t as sturdy as hard boat kayaks. If you want to go into open waters then we recommend getting an inflatable canoe instead of an inflatable kayak.
After we saw a video of someone taking an inflatable kayak in the ocean, we started wondering if it was possible. It is not recommended to take your inflatable kayak into the ocean because there are waves and rocks that could easily puncture holes in your boat.
